Self-Actualization in Post-modern
society
In the last
session we discussed the term "Self-Actualization" as coined
by Abraham Maslow.

We found that in a post-industrial
society the concept of "Human Needs" is
useful to identify different needs but the pyramidial structure of Maslow's
concept is no longer applicable: --> Survival and
Security being implicitly guaranteed and not an
everyday concern, --> Social Acceptance, Self-Esteem
and Self-Actualization are goals which are pursued
in parallel and can also only be achieved in connection
with each other.
