Introduction Participants
Four examples of methodical approach will be looked into:
- Experience Economy in tourism (Pine/Gilmore)
- Retail as part of tourism
- Customer as employee in tourism
- Diversity Management in tourism
Each methodical approach will be introduced
in a lecture. Students should then use this approach for a tourism
topic of their choice and give a 10-15 min. presentation about the
result. Two students form a group. Preparation time varies (like
in the real world), between 3 weeks and 90 minutes.
Furthermore each student has to use one of
the methodical approaches for a more detailed treatment of a touristical
topic individually and give a presentation (15 min.) in January
and write a paper of between 3,000 and 4,000 words which has to
be handed in before Feb. 19th about it.
Why methodogical approach? Perception
and reality? Trends and developments
