In this course we have discussed different aspect of interpersonal relations across cultures, for instance
Cultural programming (Hofstede),
Low/High Context Communication (Hall),
Cultural Conflict Management (Ting-Toomey)
Questions of Images, Do's and Don'ts and their background etc.

Also the students had personal experiences of working in a diverse cultures group.

Task:
Please form two groups to prepare a training session for working in an international context.
Each training session should last about 60-70 minutes.
Please use some of the tools and ideas we talked about during this class.

Situation A:

The airline industry in China is growing very fast. Therefore many pilots from other countries are employed, sometimes at short notice. Please develop a training program for some Central and Eastern European pilots to help to prepare them to cope with the cultural differences. (About practical information, another training is provided, you do not need to give such information.)

The training takes places in Europe one week prior to their departure.

Situation B:

More and more Chinese students are coming to study in Germany.

Please develop a training program for some Chinese students to help to prepare them to cope with cultural differences. (About practical information, another training is provided, you do not need to give such information.)

The training takes places in China one week prior to their departure.
