Human Resource Motivation in
International Leisure & Event Management

           

TOPIC:

Motivation of "producers" in L&E Management including:
- (temporary) paid staff
- Volunteers
- Visitors

Goal: To understand the different forms of producers motivation and the challenges and opportunities arising from them for Leisure and Event Management especially with regard to the non-monetary motivation.

 

Leisure and Events:

development from non-commodity to commodification,

from self-organized to customized outsourced organisation

 

Motivation for work moving from monetary motivation (survival) to non-monetary motivation (self-actualization).

Problem of identification with company/project especially with temporary structures (events)

 

Major part of Leisure (Serious, Casual, per project) and Events work voluntary
- either volunteers working for production in more or less organized way  
- or visitors/participants/customers working for production by prosumption
  ("customer as employee")

 

Challenges and opportunities arising for management from the volunteering, non-coercive character of big part of Human Resources
