Self-Actualization vs.
Group-Actualization
"Self-Actualization" is
based on the western concept of "Self",
of an individuum as the basic unit of society and
of a definition of the world as divided between
"me" and "the rest".
For the majority of mankind this is
however not the basic concept of a society, instead
they are group-orientated. Many languages (f.i.
Japanese) do not even have a word for "I"
but many different instead regarding the situation
between several persons.
Actualization is sought not for one
person, "me", but for "my group"
which can range from "my family", "my
friends", "my travel companions"
to "my fellow countrymen".
