8001: International Tourism Management I (Seminar): Tourism in the 21st century

Course organization:

2 SWS Seminar

Workload: 30 h classroom work / 90 h self-study

ECTS points: 4

Examination: Presentation (5 groups) and paper (9 pages p.P.)

 

Content: Global Tourism Development at the end of the first decade of the 21st century.

Goal: To understand the different current tourism forms and their interactions and the challenges and opportunities arising from them for International Tourism Management.

General Structure:
In October lectures and discussions about global developments, starting from the experiences of the participants
In November plenary sessions for group work and additional input
In December/January presentations by groups and summing up

Group work:
Five groups to analyse and present the current situation and trends of tourism in each of the five continents (Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, Oceania): domestic, inbound, outbound (selected countries), tourism forms, future trends, challenges for management
